2nd Team
Captain :
Richard Morris
Mozz - Worked his way into the 1st team and is an effective middle order batter, with all the big hitters in before him he steadies the ship and rotates the strike so we can build commanding totals.
Vice Captain :
Ian Batchelor
2nd Team Vice Captain - Pants bowler, too scared to bat, jumps to square leg for every shot!!
Players
John Birch
Generously figured middle order batsman, who hits the ball very firmly. Surprisingly took a number of extremely good catches last season. Also holds the distinction of the longest walk for golden duck (Wibsey away). Gave the immortal line: "Well, I couldn't have hit that any better"
Mike Clarke
Occasional Spinner and batsman
Gareth Forster
Warren Forster
Finemasters dream: has a severe case of verbal diarrhea. Can run around in the field all day as he hasn't got the usual Stainland physique. Sometimes surprises everyone (including himself) with a controlled batting display. A very underused bowler. Can also marshall high catches over his head, a unique skill in cricket!
Adrian Furness
Unconventional, yet extremely affective top order batsman. Can score runs all around square leg.
Always well loved by the opposition for his witty chat and oneliners. Has many friends and admirers in Warley, Bradshaw and Old Town, in particular.
Andy Gwyther
Jake Pinchin
Sam Pinchon (J)
Paul "George" Roper
Enjoyed a good first season with the Club last year and had many notable contributions with both bat and ball. Has quickly established himself as a Club stalwart.
Mick Rothwell
An extremely difficult bowler to read. When on song can be real handful, when not, awful.
Has played for the Club for many years and is a fixture. Has the claim to fame of throwing up halfway into his delivery stride. It didn't interrupt him, however.
Leon Severn
Mick Severn
Rick Thomas
Extremely capable batsman who likes to "take it to the bowlers". There isn't a shot that he isn't capable of playing. Also a fine fielder.
Team joker, just ask Stones.
Paul Ward
Andrew Whitaker
Patient batsman, who always looks comfortable and unhurried. Extremely keen and committed despite entering his "golden years".
Very rarely seen without his twin brother in tow.
Paul Whitham
fanny magnet? - no just a fanny
Jonathan Wood
Woody brings a touch of professionalism to the Club as his "first" sport is netball, which he plays at a high level.
Excruciatingly enthusiastic and optomistic, due to coming to the game fairly late. No doubt that this will be knocked out of him, in due course.
